About Me
Hi, Im Kass!
I am a Communication Designer who was born and raised in Southern Illinois. The relationship between functional design and beautiful art has always captivated me. I began my journey with the love of painting, going on to win the Congressional Art Competition two times. For two years in a row, my artwork was on display at the US Capitol.
Education
In 2026, I graduated from Southern Illinois University Carbondale with a BFA in Communication Design and a minor in Art History. During my time at SIUC, I was selected as a RZ Finalist. The top students at the School of Art and Design receive this unique recognition. During my time as a College of Arts and Media (CAM) Design Intern, I gained practical experience that taught me a lot about leadership. There, I collaborated with a group to develop marketing collateral and graphic identities that aided CAM students in their academic endeavors.
Career
During my senior year of college, I started working in the corporate world as an intern at Banterra Bank. I advanced quickly to become a Communication Design Specialist. Today, I make the connection between visual storytelling and corporate strategy by developing design solutions that impact over 500 workers across six states, from the Midwest to the Southwest.
DESIGN PRINCIPLES
-
I believe that a well-thought-out, enjoyable design should be an experience. My approach centers on the notion that "good" design doesn't have to be rigid; it may be both sharp and professional and enjoyable and approachable. By fusing my understanding of art history with contemporary communication techniques, I attempt to create images that are both captivating and thought-provoking.
