About Me

Hi, Im Kass!

I’m a Communication Designer born and raised in Southern Illinois, drawn to the intersection of functional design and expressive art. My creative journey began with painting, leading me to win the Congressional Art Competition twice, with my work displayed at the U.S. Capitol for two consecutive years. I’m all about the details—little refinements feel more like a fun challenge than work, and I love making sure everything lands exactly the way it should. Beyond design, I’m a cozy‑game enthusiast and a proud cat mom to Stinky and Pepper.

Education

I graduated in 2026 from Southern Illinois University Carbondale with a BFA in Communication Design and a minor in Art History. During my time at SIUC, I was selected as an RZ finalist and winner, earning a $7,500 award for my project Under Consume. As a College of Arts and Media (CAM) Design Intern, I gained hands‑on experience that strengthened my leadership skills while collaborating with a team to create marketing collateral and graphic identities that supported CAM students throughout their academic journey.

Career

During my senior year of college, I entered the corporate world as an intern at Banterra Bank and quickly advanced into my current role as a Communication Design Specialist. Today, I bridge visual storytelling with corporate strategy by creating design solutions that support more than 500 employees across six states, from the Midwest to the Southwest. My work spans SharePoint site design, intranet holiday themes, announcement materials, and a wide range of internal communication assets (examples available upon request).
